When I think of a wallet, the picture I had in mind was a black or brown money carrier. It sounded very simple until I learnt my lesson recently. I went in to a shop and hand picked a wallet without paying much attention. I was thinking to myself that everything I currently have in my wallet would perfectly fit in to the new. It was too late when I figured out that I was wrong. The wallet I bought could barely fit in the cash. It didn’t have a place to hold coins or a place to hold cards. The worst was yet to come. I went in to the shop and tried to replace what I bought or get a refund. I was told that the particular wallet I bought doesn’t come with ‘refund’ option.

So my advice to you is not to get caught up in the same trap. If you want to buy a wallet, find a shop that sells genuine leather, so that your request for a refund will not be turned down. Make sure your wallet is branded and steady enough to hold a heavy load. Most internal pockets of wallets are pasted with glue. On exposure to heat, the glue wears off and the pockets come out. So pay extra attention on these teeny weenie details.

You could find some waterproof wallets which come in with a zipper. So if you are an outdoor person, perhaps that is the best option for you. If you take a good look at a range of wallets, you will notice that many have a whole at the bottom. The purpose is to accommodate space while making the wallet look really thin. Since the zipper wallets won’t have such an opening, you could rest assured that your money will stay safe. Lastly, but not least, look out for a coin holder. The coin holder should have a proper lid or a zipper so that coins will not slip off. It should also be strong enough to bear a heavy load. Having a compartment to hold cards saves your money and space. So if you find a wallet which has all these qualities intact, you’d be lucky.
